Signifying a shift in philosophy for the group, “Loco Motives” was made in the tradition of the earliest popular music. Gathered around just a couple of microphones, using acoustic instrumentation, and recording to tape the album is idealistic, fervent, and stripped to the basics.
With the train references being prominent in both the band name and album title, we decided to hit the imagry straight on the nose. However, instead of referencing a western aesthetic for this, the design and illustration harkens to the geometric and airbrushed poster advertisements from the Art Deco era.
The package is a 4-panel sleeve wallet with a full-color discface.
